Three of my children espouse a belief in the Lord as their Savior. One says she believes but doesn't like like it and one son thinks he is agnostic. God is in control. I modeled a faith and dependency in God and Jesus as they were growing up. That is all as parents that we can do. We plant the seed and over the years we and others water it. God is in control of the harvest. Blessing to you, Abigail!Holly Williams Urbachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11297441659389143375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2755456003067507528.post-26611771863266135692014-01-17T12:05:26.129-08:002014-01-17T12:05:26.129-08:00Thank you, Katie! I think there is immense wisdom in this statement. Of course we want to impart the beauty of a relationship with Christ onto our children; of course we want to share with them this wonderful gift of salvation that has transformed our lives. But I think you're right that if we try too hard to impart the magnitude of the topic, we will lose their focus. There will come a time for tough questions and spiritual searching; for now, with young children, just ensuring that Jesus is a household name is key. I'm always looking for something for Samuel that he would enjoy!!!

I worry too about whether I am doing a good enough job spiritually...we pray with our kids, we say grace, we go to Sunday School...but is it enough??? this post reminds me not to be so hard on myself and truly embrace the little things! I realized the other day that this time last year Samuel was unable to say 2 word sentences...we spent a lot of time praying for Samuel, doing therapy sessions, and worrying...tonight at Chick-Fil-A he took my hand and Eric's and blessed our food...I too worry when another 4 year old wants to get baptized when my own child isn't even close to understanding the concept...but this post is a great reminder to embrace what God has given us and do the best we can!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00246352804372763138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2755456003067507528.post-24337905972676705042014-01-14T15:04:51.952-08:002014-01-14T15:04:51.952-08:00Thanks so much Beth!
